Our Story
The Afternoon Umbrella Friends started as a group of friends with a simple desire to groove together all night and have a whole lot of fun. As our community has grown, this project has grown into so much more!
It is our goal to provide the creative community of San Diego and beyond unique and invigorating experiences, creating a platform for talented artists of all types to let their talents shine!
Music
We are a group of individuals with diverse music tastes and backgrounds. Focusing on house, techno, and disco, many of our artists draw influences from various genres which they each incorporate to create individual styles.

Community
At The Afternoon Umbrella Friends, our community is what makes us who we are. Not just our little community of artists, but also the community of San Diego and the world beyond. Creating experiences that bring people together on a deeper level and fostering interconnection between individuals from all walks of life is a central drive for everything we do.
We always want to give back, using our events as a platform to fundraise, support new artists, and raise awareness about causes dear to our hearts.
Umbrellavation
Dancing all night together is always beautiful, but we wanted to find unique ways to bring our community together. Umbrellavation is a part of the Umbrella Friends which focuses on community-building, health and wellness, creative pursuits, charity work, and more. Together we can umbrellavate ourselves and our world!
